about this tour

Join us for a five-day Autumn hiking tour through the bucolic landscapes of Alt and Baix Empordà. Our local contacts and knowledge from years spent walking, cycling and nurturing relationships with local wine and olive oil makers will give you a unique perspective of a corner of Catalonia infused with fascinating culture, history and jaw dropping vistas.

Situated in Northeastern Catalonia, the Empordà region is relatively unknown given its gastronomic, viticultural and olive oil producing heritage. The people of the Empordà have been producing wine and olive oil since the Greeks, Romans and Arabs inhabited the area two and a half thousand years ago. With its abundance of cultural sites, medieval towns, national parks and fishing villages, combined with a growing number of family-run cellars, olive oil producers and World-renowned restaurants, the potential for wine and olive oil tourism is greater than ever.

The hiking routes we have chosen are on forest trails and countryside tracks. Explore the Cami de Ronda and GR11 spanning the length of the Pyrenees mountain range and Catalan coastline, before returning each evening to your charming overnight lodging – a renovated manor house nestle, countryside abode and seafront hotel with views over Cadaques bay.

The perfect blend of epicurean experiences and cycle touring in charismatic corners of Europe that have everything – fascinating history, fine wine, delicious food and jaw dropping vistas.
